Victor turned 5 this month and we celebrated it on the most perfect way for him! The theme was Army and wild animals. Since Victor has really enjoyed time outdoors, playing in the bushes, loves animals and has been asking for a special party with his "5 friends" just like Clara had hers a month ago, we decided that it would be as special as he was requesting. The only problem was that I am a full time worker now and have no much extra time to prepare his party as I had for Clara's party, that I wasn't working... Luckily our good friend Paulina was in LA and offered to bring stuff for us, so I didn't think twice to order all his party supplies from Party City. It was such a blessing because all was done and I had not extra work and all I had to do was putting the goody bag together, fill up the balloons (by mouth!!!), organizing the decoration and Voila! The party was ready to go! Thanks Paulina for doing it for us!!Plus our friend Carla, as always made his beautiful and yummy cake!!

Victor fez 5 este mês e celebramos na forma mais perfeita para ele! O tema foi Exército e animais selvagens. Uma vez que Victor tem adorado gastar seu tempo brincando do lado de fora, brincar no mato, adora animais e tem pedido uma festa especial com seus "5 amigos" como foi a festa da Clara há um mês, decidimos entao, que seria tão especial quanto ele estava pedindo . O único problema e’ que eu agora trabalho o dia inteiro e não tenho mais muito tempo extra para preparar sua festa como eu tive para a festa de Clara, que eu não estava ftrabalhando ... Felizmente o nossa amiga Paulina estava em Los Angeles e se ofereceu para trazer as coisas para nós, então eu não pensei duas vezes para encomendar tudo da Party City (uma loja de festas americana). Foi uma bênção, porque tudo estava pronto e eu não tive  trabalho extra nenhum e tudo que eu tive de fazer foi arrumar as lembrancinhas, encher os balões (com a boca, afff!), organizar a decoração e Voila! A festa estava pronta! Obrigada Paulina pelo grande favor! E tambem a Carla, que, como sempre, fez o seu bolo maravilhoso!!

I used lots of hay, that we already had tons and spread it around, it looked cool!

Eu usei bastante palha/feno para decorar a festa e ficou muito bacana!

All the little soldiers and war helicopters and airplanes made the party really personalized. There was an really really old suitcase on the table with more hay and all the supplies for the party including kids hats, dog tags, masks, whistles, torches, compasses.... all sorts of things that the boys/soldiers would use to go in the bushes.

Todos os soldadinhos e helicópteros de guerra e aviões fizeram a festa ficar realmente personalizada! Tinha ainda uma mala super super velha na mesa com mais palhas e todos os equipamentos necessarios para que os meninos/soldados pudessem explorar a mata como apitos, mascaras, chapeus, lanternas, bussolas,colares de identificaçao...

The little inprovised table with hay and war toys made them spend long time playing there, which I was surprised with!!

A mesinha improvisada com palha e brinquedos de guerra os entreteram por muito tempo, o que me surpreendeu muito!

 Lots of games, most of them with balloons.

 Tug of war was my favorite! Even the girls participated

 The pinata was made by Augusto and I. We wrapped a box with green paper added some paper rolls and there it was a Tank!! Easy and cool! I could never pay for a pinata, I feel a true waist of money...

Augusto e eu fizemos a pinata cobrindo uma caixa de papelao e adicionando uns rolos de papel, assim tivemos um tanque de guerra! Nunca consegui comprar uma pois acho verdadeiro desperdicio de dinheiro!!

 I don't know how and why but after the games the boy all started doing push ups. Maybe is a boy thing?!

Ninguem entendeu mas depois dos jogos os meninos, e ate as meninas, começaram a fazer flexoes... Isso e' coisa de menino?! Vai saber!!

After the games Victor awarded all the soldiers for their commitment and courageous!!

Depois dos jogos Victor deu medalhas a todos os soldados por sua coragem e compromisso!!

 I don't need to mention that the forest was the highlight of the party, even for the adults. Augusto made swings, swing bridge and a flying fox in there (what a talented husband a got!!) and the children had a blast! Even the adults enjoyed playing in there!

Eu nem preciso mensionar que a floresta foi um sucesso e a melhor atraçao para as criancs (e tambem para os adultos!). Augusto construiu uma ponte que balança, balnços e um flying fox (acho que em portugues se chama tirolesa...) e' uma corda que sai de uma arvore a outra e as crianças sentam numa madeirinha que corre nessa corda levando de uma arvore a outra... A nossa floresta esta o maximo!!! hahaha

 Crossing bridges, going through the tracks, swinging on swings and going for a treasure hunt was fantastic!

Atravessar portes que se movem, caminhas nas trilhas, balançar no balanços e ir a caça ao tesouro foi o maximo!!

 The flying fox. Very cool!

 When treasure hunting the girls didn't mean to participate, but nobody couldn't hold them back (fair enough!) so Clara and Ella went first and found the Treasure box (a big wood box I have that we placed in the bushes and camouflaged it). I placed the goody bags there so they could find special treasures and take home. It was my best idea ever!!! ;-)

Quando chegou a hora de sair a caça do tesouro, as meninas sairam na frente e Clara e Ella encontraram o bau de tesouros- caixa de madeira que eu tenho que colocamos no meio da mata camuflada- (na verdade elas nao deveriam, combinamos antes que essa brincadeira seria apenas para os meninos pois eu tinha preparado lembrancinhas apenas para os meninos convidados). Os tesouros foram as sacolinhas de lembranças, assim eles poderiam achar o tesouro e leva-los para casa. Essa foi a melhor ideia que ja tive!! haha ;-)

 That was the easiest party we've ever planned and so far the best!!! The children loved it and so did we and all the adults that came along. Victor was the happiest of all!! We love seeing him like that and can't wait to see our next party! Happy 5th birthday Victor!

Essa foi a festa mais facil que ja preparamos, e a melhor ate agora! Todos nos adoramos e nos divertimos muito. Victor ficou muito feliz! Adoramos ve-lo assim e mal podemos esperar para nossa proxima festa! Feliz Aniversario, Victor!
