Here we are again, camping! We got back home on Friday the 30th, spent New years at home and on Monday there we went again, to Whananaki, Whangarei, about 4 hours from here, further north. At thi stime it was a little easier to get things ready, actually we didn't even unpack anything, just add things here and there like food. The trip was more tiring because of the traffic and road, very narrow and curvy... The weather was back to rain and gray so the first day was all for settling down and get to know the place. The day after was a blessing! Sunny but not too bad and beautiful!! This place is amazingly beautiful and I can't find words to describe it all. Unfortunately my camera's battery died on the second to third day and we couldn't have more picture (that was one thing we forgot about between the 2 trips). We'll definitely need to go back!! The beaches there are fantastic and diverse, blue, green, with waves and flat, all kinds of things you can possibly imagine. It's amazing how such a small country can diverse this much. One week before we were a little bit on the southern part of Auckland and now on the northen part and it changes dramatically! FANTASTIC!!
Clara is such a mom for these boys and she loves them!!
This creek is also by the campsite and it goes to the ocean, the color is unbelievably green during a sunny day. It also fills up at least 4 times more its size.
The campsite is right behind the sand mount, we could hear the ocean very loud at night.
O acampamento fica logo atras do monte de areia, podiamos ouvir o barulho do mar durante a noite....
He was thirsty!!
Our boat!!
Nosso barquinho!!
That was such a nice trip, really a NICE TRIP!! I wish I had my camera to photograph all the beautiful views...
Essa viagem foi realmente incrivel!! Maravilhosa!!!
Among many interesting adventures during this trip I'll mention one that I think is mostly remarkable. On our last night of the trip, Augusto decided to go fishing but after a whole day out to different beaches we all decided to go with him. So we got our little chilli bin with ALL of our cold food (mostly everything we had...), breads and lots more put in the car and headed up to another beautiful bay. At this time I locked the car and attention to this, Augusto told me to not lock it because we'd be around, but I did it anyway... So the kids went to play in the water (even though it had passed 7pm) and Augusto and I sat on the sand to watch them. Oh! I forgot to mention that at that point he had given up about fishing, the tide was too high. Suddenly Gabriel got in a big wave and needed help, I got up in a hurry and got out at the water to save him and I believe that at that time, the car keys had fallen in the water... Yep! We lost the car keys (Ok I lost the keys!).... It then became a little headache. How would we go back to the tent, how about our dinner, then breakfast? My bag was also in the car (which means no money too) and even our flip flops were in there... Well at that time some people that were still at the beach helped us to look for them, but we couldn't find. So as good as Kiwi can be a women gave us a ride and later on brought us dinner. I think I never prayed so much asking for our keys back!!! At the next day the people responsible for the park fed us with breakfast and helped getting a key maker from the city (~60km away). Everything went smooth and quiet. The people were just amazing on helping and for sure it helped in the point of receiving services (it is usually hard for me to receive services, specially like this when we had nothing to eat and had no choice). I felt so blessed for finding so nice people around at that time! At that point our return home was rescheduled to the next day. We had to pay lots of money for that, but I'm glad we could do it! And for those that don't believe that God answers our prayers here it is a great example about it. I was desperate when it happened, quietly I remained in prayer asking for our keys. We couldn't find them at that night but somebody else did. Yes! A couple went out for a diving the night after we lost the keys and the women found them buried in the sand with only a little shiny point outside. She got the keys with her and asked around. Someone told her that a key maker was around at that morning, so she took home the keys with her, called the company of a key maker and so found out about our story. On our way back home we stopped by to get them and so we didn't need to pay for our house key to be made. It didn't come at the time I wanted, neither on my way but it came through somebody else. I am again so very thankful for the blessings my family and I have received in this life and no matter what happens, He will always watch out for us!
Yep! Perdemos as chaves do carro (Ok eu perdi as chaves !)....
