This
year we spent Christmas in Our House! with our Brazilian friends, Sanchez and as good Brazilians as we are, we celebrated Christmas Eve, on the 24th. It was great fun and great food! The kids were awesome playing, eating and of course, opening the gifts. This year Santa's gifts were more simple than usual. I'm sure Santa loves shopping in the U.S :o), here everything is much more expensive and with no very good quality (at least until now that I don't really know the best places to go).
Christmas was very very nice this year and we are very happy with everything! Next morning the 25th we packed our bags and headed to Raglan for camping. Raglan is a place near Hamilton famous because of the surf. It is obvious that Augusto will choose a good place to go BUT it has to have surf! So he gave us this trip as a Christmas present! The place is fantastic it even reminded us of camping in Brazil, of course that much more organized and better infrastructure. We had just bought a bigger tent with two bedrooms and for our surprise it had no instructions manual. Imagine the frustration, we'd have to sleep in our old tent and it's now too small for all of us. Then we found two women who were also camping there and in the middle of our conversation we told them about our situation so then they offered to help at the next day. It was already afternoon and we were heading to the beach and for our surprise when returned we found our GIANT tent up there, waiting for us. WOW! We were fascinated with so much space. People here is very, very helpful and courteous (but the opposite also happens!). I do not know why I did not take more photos =o( We stayed until the 28th, on my birthday and went back home under a lot of rain! Thankfully, the 4-days camping there were lots of sun and fun, except the last night that was also under water! Everyone loved it. I only regret not being able to go to Temple because of the rain because we were all soaked and dirty and, of course, grumpy.
